Creating a design for a veterinary clinic and boarding facility that respects the historic context of Old Mandeville, while providing a noticeable eye catching aesthetic from the street. Providing this type of design for new construction while raising the building 10'+ above the ground were major factors and design components for this project. How could this be achieved without compromising the budget or quality and still provide all the components a veterinary clinic with boarding requires?

Through engaging collaboration and communication with the owner, the City of Mandeville, and consultants, Greenleaf Lawson Architects was able to provide efficient space planning at both ground level and the first floor. The design incorporated space under the building to offset cost of raising the building. The Ground Level provides covered parking, ADA parking , additional storage, elevator entrance, covered dog play area, rehabilitation area and more. The design also included flexibility for future expansion with the back porch equipped structurally for a new building. This could add up to 1150 SF to the 2750 SF already designed. The open front porch provides the Old Mandeville appeal while providing a slight modern touch in the details along with an 180 degree view along with views of the lake.
